Take a leisurely stroll down the hill and you’ll soon find yourself in Hastings Old Town, with its maze of winding streets, vintage shops, quirky galleries and a great mix of places to eat. Keep going and you’ll reach the lively Stade area, home to beachside concerts, the arcade and the funfair.
If art’s your thing, you’ve got plenty to enjoy. Pop into Hastings Contemporary on the seafront, or head along the coast to Bexhill-on-Sea where the striking De La Warr Pavilion hosts exhibitions and events. For a classic seaside experience, the award-winning Hastings Pier is a must, perfect for a gentle amble along the wooden boards while you soak up those sweeping sea views.
History lovers won’t be disappointed either. Explore the ruins of Hastings Castle, uncover stories of the deep at the Shipwreck Museum, or travel a little further to the iconic Battle Abbey – the very site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings, and a brilliant day out for all ages.
Looking for something a bit more adventurous? Head underground into the mysterious Smugglers Adventure Caves or visit the True Crime Museum, set in atmospheric caverns beneath the pier, where you’ll find a spine-tingling collection of criminal artefacts.
Whether you’re after a peaceful coastal escape, a dose of history, or something with a little more thrill, Hastings Heights puts you right at the heart of it all.
Hastings is brimming with creativity, offering a vibrant mix of art, history, and seaside charm. Stroll along the sweeping seafront before diving into its treasure trove of vintage shops and quirky boutiques.
At Hastings Contemporary, The Sun Feeds the Wind exhibition celebrates the living history of the town’s fishing community, while the Shipwreck Museum showcases fascinating artefacts salvaged from the deep.
George Street is perfect for wandering, with its eclectic blend of art galleries, independent restaurants, and unique homeware stores.
Round off your visit by exploring the atmospheric ruins of Hastings Castle, then head up to West Hill Café for breathtaking views across the town and coastline.
Just minutes away from Hastings Heights, you’ll find Hastings Country Park (7 mins), a beautiful expanse of ancient woodland glens and dramatic coastal scenery that’s perfect for walkers and nature lovers.
For those with a passion for history, Battle Abbey (20 mins) is a must-see - founded by William the Conqueror shortly after the Battle of Hastings in 1066, it offers a vivid glimpse into England’s past.
If you’d prefer a day by the sea, Pevensey Bay (30 mins) boasts a long stretch of sandy beach ideal for swimming, paddling, or simply soaking up the sunshine. And for a fun, hands-on family outing, the Observatory Science Centre at Herstmonceux (30 mins) is packed with interactive exhibits and activities that bring science and astronomy to life.
You’ll have exclusive access to the entire apartment. Guest access is via the shared front door and up a large internal staircase two floors. There is also a small lift, but the flat is not really suitable for anyone with access issues.
